New Xing Yi Quan (形意拳) Class Sydney
New Term Starting Jan 2020. Beginners welcome. No prior experience needed.
Xing Yi Quan (形意拳) is one of the 3 major styles of internal Chinese martial arts. Xing (形) refers to form or shape and Yi (意) refers to mind or intent.
The art is characterized by seemingly linear and explosive movements. Practitioners learn to align their hands, feet and torso to coordinate the motion of their entire bodies and generate intense bursts of power, simultaneously attacking and defending.
Sifu James’s lineage of Xing Yi Quan was passed down by Sigung Grandmaster Chu Gui Ting – a renowned expert in Hebei Xing Yi.
