Push Hands and sensitivity training is an integral part of advancement in Tai Chi Quan. Through push hands, the practitioner comes to understand the purpose and applications of form postures. By exchanging and testing energy with a partner, the four main energies of ‘adhering’ (Zhan) , ‘sticking’ (Nian), ‘connecting’ (Lian) and ‘following’ (Sui) are practiced.
Sifu James is a Multiple Winner of Push Hands and Traditional Yang Style Form competitions – taking the Australia Open Tai Chi Championship in 2012 and 2015. Push hands training sessions are currently held on Sundays 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, straight after the regular Xing Yi lessons.
